Dora was born in Kununurra and lived there all her life except for some schooling in Broome in Years 8 & 9. She has worked at St Joseph's School as a teacher's aid and at Mirima Language centre as a secretary. She also worked at the Women's Centre where she has been their chairperson. At Warinagarri Arts she started as the artist support worker, helping all the old people. She started painting after coming to the centre for a while and helping the old people mix paints. She completed the ANKA Arts-worker Extension program in 2012. She has worked at the art centre as the Administration and Gallery Assistant and now is the Dawang Projects Co-ordinator learning to curate and conserve artworks. Currently Dora is the Chair of the Waringarri Aboriginal Arts Board and Vice-Chair of ANKA. She paints and makes textiles as often as she can. Dora has 5 children and 11 grand children. She follows in the footsteps of my elders and learns about Country, culture and art from the old people.
