Kanetia Bungaman Griffiths

Kanetia Griffiths was born on the 4/4/1991 at Kununurra hospital. My mother is Dora Griffiths & my grandparents are Alan & Peggy Griffiths. I spent most of my life growing up beside all the old people and other family members. I went to St Joseph Primary School from pre-primary- year 7. In year seven, I received a Role Model Award. Then high school at K.D.H.S for year 8 & 9, Coolgardie CAPS in Coolgardie for year 10, 11, 12. I used to volunteer for Save the Children every school holiday when I returned. Then in 2010 I spent 6

months working at CAPS school Coolgardie then I returned back home in July 2010 & started working at Save The Children for the next two and half years. I enjoy working with kids. In 2013-2014 I worked at Waringarri Aboriginal Arts as the Gallery Assistant which I thoroughly enjoyed. I first started painting at WAA in 2013. I returned to Save The Children in 2015 and have been working on and off with until now. In 2022 I started working at Youth and Family Support at Child Protection for 5 months until my accident that got me back into painting the Butterfly Dreaming.

I am the carer for my granddaughter Kathisha Woodman since she was 4/12 months old and now she will soon be turning 8. DCP granted me care so I can share my knowledge of law, language and culture to hand down to her.
