ARTIST STATEMENT:

Spacescape.

Best describes the series of sculptures in the exhibition.                                                                                               

The landscape (in art) is a fixed, two-dimensional representative view across an area of land depicting all the visible features, typically consisting of a rear, mid and foreground.

My spacescapes are physical compositions that occupy real space and time. I compose the sculptures using imagined abstract forms to minimise distracting realism. Just like real space, my spacescapes are fluid, subject to natural forces the components within a spacescape can move and interact with each other unlike a static landscape.
