Through the creative process, artists turn an intangible concept in to a tangible object through a continuous development of reflection and refraction. That time spent creating enables us to stop and reflect, and it is those moments of reflection that allow for refraction, or redirection, to occur.

Is the outcome of our work a reflection of us, as best as we can express it? Or does the process of refraction cause us to shift directions, facilitating a distortion or alteration of our personal expectations and offering up a new perspective? In developing work for this exhibition, we encourage artists to reconsider their current viewpoint and explore the different ways of experiencing the world.
